CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A total of ten billion passenger trips have been made by Chongqing Rail Transit as of 14:56 on April 14.

Chongqing Rail Transit has achieved an all-round development since CRT Line 2 started operation in 2005. The past 19 years saw the development of a rail transit network covering downtown Chongqing, with train lines and mileage reaching 13 and 538km respectively. The same period also saw an increasing number of daily passengers, which peaked at 5.081 million, mirroring that Chongqing Rail Transit has become a significant mode of transport for Chongqing residents.

Statistics show that the passengers of CRT Line 3 accounted for 0.3% of the total passengers, with an average daily passenger flow of 632,000 person-times.

The whole rail transit network of Chongqing includes 319 stations. Lianglukou Station is the busiest station, which has handled 800 million passenger trips since its opening.
