On that day, a number of enterprise and organization booths coincidentally displayed the latest multi-functional intelligent road lamps, presenting the industry’s future development trend. The reporter found that these multi-functional intelligent road lamps have a common feature, namely they are “multi-functional”.

For example, the multi-functional intelligent road lamps exhibited by Chongqing Hongri Lighting Equipment Co., Ltd. have additional functions such as LED screen, city broadcasting, one-click alarm and environmental monitoring in addition to ordinary functions such as illumination and monitoring, and have reserved a 5G network support module. The bottom of such intelligent road lamps is also transformed into a charging pile which can slowly charge electric vehicles.

Huazhi Precision from Sichuan went one step further, upgrading road lamps into high-power electric vehicle fast-charging stations and energy storage stations. The reporter saw at its booth that there was a 120kw fast-charging pile in the front of the lamp base, and an energy storage facility at the back of the lamp base. The person in charge of the booth introduced that such road lamp can expand a variety of functions according to the user’s actual needs, and support for cloud-side cooperation, multi-calculation power sharing and multi-service terminals with one network, and the cost of the pile body is 20% lower than that of an ordinary road lamp.

“Upgrading the original road lamp to multi-functional intelligent road lamp with charging function basically does not need to take up municipal land, which can reduce at least 60% of repeated construction cost.” The person in charge said that the road lamp is accompanied by distributed energy storage, which can also better adapt to the load demand of high-power charging of vehicles across the city.

Under the background of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” target and intelligent city construction, multi-functional intelligent road lamp is being promoted and applied all over the country. The relevant person in charge of Chongqing Lighting Electrical Association said that multi-functional intelligent road lamps can integrate multiple sets of functional system bearing, power supply, communication and other supporting resources, and become an important part of the 5G era of IoV construction, cloud network construction and communication network construction.
