CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Just for the convenience of tourists to visit and take photos, Qiansimen Bridge was transformed into the “World’s Largest Footbridge” during holidays, which has been praised by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs many times; and even the “off-the-record” attractions discovered by tourists on their own, such as roads, signs, and even toilets and other people’s facilities, have been taken into consideration by Chongqing in a hurry...

So Chongqing once again won the award – on the afternoon of April 21, 2024 China Tourism Science Annual Meeting hosted by China Tourism Academy showed that 2023 National Tourist Satisfaction Survey Report was officially released, and Chongqing was successfully selected as one of Top Ten Cities for Tourist Satisfaction in 2023.

The research and monitoring of tourist satisfaction initiated by China Tourism Academy (Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism) has been carried out for 15 consecutive years, with its main targets being 60 major cities across the country and 27 popular outbound destinations outside the country, and the entire evaluation system covered such three dimensions as on-site survey, online comment, and complaint and quality monitoring.

The released 2023 National Tourist Satisfaction Survey Report showed that in 2023, the comprehensive index of national tourist satisfaction was 80.04 which continues remaining in the “satisfaction” range and basically recovers to the same level of the same period in 2019. In the case of the concentrated release of demands and that the supply chain has not yet been fully repaired, such achievements are hard-earned.

The Report also pointed out that “fancy pampering” have become the keywords for 2023, and the sincere hospitality is bringing tangible results, with destination revisit stickiness on the rise. Domestic tourists satisfaction indices for destination image, local residents’ attitude, and revisit degree are 80.81, 87.26, and 82.32 respectively, realizing a year-on-year growth rate of 1.45%, 0.32% and 5.25% compared with that of 2019, and an increasingly improved satisfaction with public services.

As a major tourism city in China, Chongqing has been a sample city for China Tourism Academy to conduct tourism development quality monitoring for a long time. Specifically, by 2023, 13 cities including Chongqing consistently remained in the first echelon of the cities with overall satisfaction, and Hangzhou and Suzhou are always in the top rank.
