CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A container train of the New Western Land-sea Corridor departed Chongqing Fuling Longtou Port on April 28, which marked the start of regular operations of New Western Land-sea Corridor container trains along the Fuling Longtou Port Special Railway. The container train will arrive at Guangxi Qinzhou Port before the goods are shipped to Singapore, Italy, Mexico, and other eight countries.

The Fuling Longtou Port, located in Fuling District where the Yangtze River and the Wujiang River meet, is one of the ‘1+3’ port hubs in Chongqing and the key project that integrates Chongqing into the Belt and Road Initiative and Yangtze River Economic Belt. As of April 27, the Fuling Longtou Port has delivered 807 trains of goods with a weight of 50,065 tons and received 579 vehicles of goods with a weight of 36,664 tons, ensuring people’s needs for production and life are met.

“The opening of New Western Land-sea Corridor container trains along the Fuling Longtou Port Special Railway has saved us nearly half of the transport time and significantly reduced the transport cost,” said Lin Zheng, Logistics Manager of Chongqing Wankai New Material Technology Co. Ltd. They can track the whole process of shipment through the 95306 China Railway before arranging pickup time properly. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
