CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On April 28, a demonstration flight showcasing low-altitude tourism and scheduled charter flights from the downtown
area of Chongqing to the surrounding region (Fairy Mountain) took place at Longxing Tongyong Airport in Liangjiang New Area, signifying the possibility of future "charter flights" from Liangjiang New Area to Fairy Mountain Airport, significantly reducing the existing 3-hour ground travel time to approximately 1 hour. Passengers will have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking scenery of the Yangtze River, Wujiang River, and Fairy Mountain from the air, experiencing the unique charm of the mountain city in a whole new way.

Longxing Tongyong Airport is known to be the sole general airport in the central urban area of Chongqing, offering the most convenient low-altitude flight experiences within the city. It is currently home to several aviation companies, including Jiuzhou Condor General Aviation, Jiuzhou Flight Club, and Chongqing Aviation, operating a variety of aircraft models.

"Now our main plan is to implement a customized tourist charter flight operation model, allowing citizens to make advance reservations in the future," stated Xiang Yang, Chairman of A&A Industry Group of Liangjiang Investment Group. "As our passenger traffic increases, we aim to transition gradually from scheduled charter flights to regular operations. This will enable us to establish premium general short-distance transportation routes to meet the demand of citizens traveling from the central urban area to Wulong Fairy Mountain for vacation." The demonstration flight was jointly conducted by Jiuzhou Flight Club and Hongshi Aviation. The aircraft used was a Cessna 172S, capable of accommodating up to 4 passengers, catering to the travel needs of a "family of three". With a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour, it reduces the 3-hour ground travel time to approximately 1 hour.

"This flight departs from Longxing Tongyong Airport, passing through Changshou, Fuling, and Wulong before finally arriving at Fairy Mountain Airport, covering approximately 130 kilometers, maintaining an altitude of around 300 meters above ground level. Passengers can enjoy clear views of landmarks along the way. During the first half of the route, the aircraft flies over the Yangtze River, while in the latter half, it follows the course of the Wujiang River, culminating in a landing at Fairy Mountain Airport," introduced Zhou Song, a flight instructor at Hongshi Aviation.

Dong Zheng, a flight instructor at the flight department of Jiuzhou Flight Club, explained to reporters that Jiuzhou Flight Club and Jiuzhou Condor General Aviation are "sister" companies, each operating two different aircraft models. Jiuzhou Condor General Aviation primarily operates helicopters, including models such as Enstrom, whereas Jiuzhou Flight Club focuses on operating sports fixed-wing aircraft, including the Cessna-172S flown during this demonstration.

Dong also mentioned that the company currently specializes in providing various flight services, including flight experiences, flight pilot license training, low-altitude sightseeing, aviation education and research, national defense education, and flight camps. In the future, they plan to offer customized tourism flights from Longxing Tongyong Airport to Fairy Mountain, catering to scenarios such as air weddings and family outings.
