CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When it comes to "Chongqing goods" that travel across the ocean, what comes to your mind first? Is it a laptop that one out of every three laptops in the world is "made in Chongqing", or is it an "Chongqing Automobile Exports Overseas" that has been riding the wind and waves all the way, or is it an agricultural product that has become a "dark horse" in exports this year?
According to data from Chongqing Customs District P.R. China, leveraging the international channel advantage of "southeast northwest", Chongqing's goods trade exports in the first quarter reached 109.15 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Among them, the export value of "made in Chongqing " laptops is 36.09 billion yuan, ranking first in the country; Chongqing's automobile exports reached 8.92 billion yuan, an increase of 24.1%; "Zhong Orange" from Zhongxian, "Fengjie Navel Orange", "Wushan Love Orange" and others have successively seized the international market. In the first quarter, citrus exports from the northeast region of Chongqing exceeded 5,000 tons for the first time, a 9-fold increase year-on-year. Chongqing is constantly expanding its stage for brand exports.
Chongqing's “intelligent” manufacturing accelerates exports
"A batch of laptops exported by our company to Germany cannot be released normally due to incorrect filling in the declaration column. If they miss tonight's flight, they will not be delivered as scheduled, which will seriously affect our corporate credit." Recently, Lv Xiaohui, the customs officer of Tech-Front (Chongqing) Computer Co., Ltd., sought help from Xiyong Customs, a subsidiary of Chongqing Customs District P.R. China.
Reputation is the foundation for the survival and development of enterprises. After receiving a request from the enterprise, Xiyong Customs immediately initiated the "cloud" customs clearance process, processing business and handling deficiencies on the "cloud" based on the enterprise's credit status and risk controllability. They also took the initiative to coordinate with the port customs, ensuring timely shipment of goods through methods such as supplementary application materials and substantive review, with the entire process taking less than 40 minutes.
In December 2023, the "Chongqing Automobile Exports Overseas" Action Plan was officially launched, proposing to further seize the opportunities for the development of automobile exports. Yuzhou Customs, a subsidiary of Chongqing Customs, is closely monitoring the difficulties and bottlenecks in the customs clearance process and expanding overseas markets of "made in Chongqing" automobiles. Provide a solution for comprehensive logistics of automobile exports by calculating transportation costs and operating prices item by item. They actively support automobile companies to install dedicated brackets inside containers, achieving a doubling of the carrying capacity of a single container and a reduction of about 50% in single vehicle logistics costs. At the same time, they strengthen their cooperation with port customs, allowing enterprises to choose their own customs clearance mode, further improving the efficiency of automobile export customs clearance, and efficiently serving the "made in Chongqing" intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry to form a stronger international radiation capability.
In the first quarter, Chongqing's automobile exports reached 8.92 billion yuan, an increase of 24.1%. Among them, the export of electric vehicles reached 1.75 billion yuan, an increase of 219.4%, significantly leading the national growth rate by 199.8 percentage points.
The flavor of Chongqing spreads overseas
What goes global is not only Chongqing’s “intelligent” manufacturing, but also Chongqing’s flavor.
Chongqing has always had export-oriented characteristic agriculture in large rural areas, large mountainous areas, and large reservoir areas. To build a modern new Chongqing, agricultural products export has great potential and sufficient stamina. In the first quarter, Chongqing exported 330 million yuan of agricultural products, a year-on-year increase of 34.1%. Among them, the export of specialty agricultural products such as morels doubled, with a year-on-year increase of 383.4%.
"Edible mushrooms are a unique industry in the local area due to their characteristics of not competing with grain crops for land or agriculture for time. Thanks to the assistance of customs, our company's annual export volume was only a few hundred kilograms since its establishment, and now we have achieved a breakthrough of over 150 tons of exports. Foreign customers have praised us highly, and orders are increasing!" said Li Jiuhong, the manager of the Foreign Trade Department of Chongqing Eusinasia foods Co., Ltd.
In order to enhance the added value and reputation of Chongqing's characteristic agricultural products, in recent years, Chongqing Customs has accelerated the consolidation of the development pattern of "promoting development through industry and revitalizing through exports", and has helped 300 kilograms of Wushan crispy plums "fly" out of the Three Gorges Reservoir area for the first time, directly to Singapore; 25 tons of radishes from Tongliang were exported to Vietnam for the first time through a cross-border highway shuttle bus; 96 kilograms of dried shiitake mushrooms were successfully exported to Australia, achieving a breakthrough of zero foreign trade exports in Chengkou County in the past five years; 435.5 kilograms of the "fist" product of rural revitalization in Nanchuan District --"Jinshan Black Tea" tea has crossed the sea for the first time. The export categories of Chongqing's characteristic agricultural products are becoming increasingly diverse, the scale is gradually expanding, and the reputation continues to improve.
