CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 10th Chinese medical team for Ethiopia departed Chongqing on May 16 to offer medical aid in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for one year.

The 13-member medical team, led by the First Affiliated Hospital to the Army Military Medical University (Southwest Hospital), consists of military medical experts from more than ten of the hospital's departments, including hepatobiliary surgery, cardiovascular internal medicine, and laboratory science.

The medical team will conduct relevant work on clinical treatment, personnel training, and technical assistance based on Ethiopia's medical needs and actual situation.

Since 2015, 97 military medical experts (in 10 teams) from Army Medical University have been dispatched to Ethiopia. They have offered overseas medical services to 22,000 people and instructed in more than 2,000 operations, steadily promoting the establishment of high-technology hospitals and the transport and installation of ancillary medical facilities and materials such as signs and labels in Ethiopia.
