“Imperfect” them painting a 5-meter long scroll of calligraphy and painting together

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Hold pens, draw the outline, and splash the ink at one stretch. On May 16, at the Calligraphy and Painting Collection Activity of National Disabled Person's Day jointly organized by the Chongqing Disabled Persons' Federation Information Center and the Banan Disabled Persons' Federation, five disabled calligraphers and painters jointly painted a long scroll of painting with Chongqing's landscape as the theme in different postures of holding writing brushes.

"As the National Disabled Person's Day approaches, we worked together to create this long scroll of calligraphy and painting, which not only make the public learn more about us, but also allows more disabled persons to get encourage from us," said Huang Guofu, a member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, adding that this activity will not only help the public learn more about the artistic career of disabled persons, but also allow disabled persons present to feel the influence of art.

At the age of four, Huang Guofu was unfortunately struck by high-voltage electricity and lost both arms. At the age of twelve, he began to persist in writing and painting with his feet. He has mastered skills for mouth painting proficiently through years of efforts. His works cover various themes such as flowers and birds, landscapes and animals, which are exported to Southeast Asia, Europe and America, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in China.

On the activity, traditional cultural and artistic performances such as tea art, traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage illustrations, and classical instruments were also recognized by visitors.
