CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Sixth Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (hereafter referred to as “WCIFIT”) will be held in Chongqing International Expo Center and Yuelai International Convention Center from May 23 to 26. Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group recently announced that 54 buses will be put into use daily for 7 conventional bus routes passing through the Chongqing International Expo Center, and 3 rail transit lines will also shorten running intervals of trains to meet the travel needs of the public to attend the fair.
In terms of urban public transportation, 7 conventional bus routes passing through the Chongqing International Expo Center will be provided with 54 buses and an average of 512 runs daily, which can transport about 30,000 passengers per day. Running schedules will be optimized combined with on-site passenger flow, to allocate transportation capacity reasonably and enhance support capability of public transport.
At the same time, connecting routes from the surrounding P+R parking lot to the fair hall and shuttle routes between the fair halls will be opened to ensure convenient travel for visitors. Based on the travel needs of participating guests and passengers, a customized public transportation plan will be made to meet the differentiated demand of the fair.
Preparation should be made for emergency transportation. 30 emergency buses will be put in place in areas such as Xiantao Bigdata Valley and Airport New City around the fair to ensure the transportation for visitors.
In terms of rail transit, 10 trains will run on part route from Lijia to Yuelai and full route from Lijia to Shaheba on the International Expo Line from May 23 to 26, shortening the minimum running interval from 10 minutes to 6 minutes and 30 seconds; from May 25 to 26, on the basis of weekends, 5 more trains will run on Line 6, shortening the minimum running interval from 6 minutes to about 5 minutes.4 more trains will run on Line 10, shortening the minimum running interval from 10 minutes to about 8 minutes. During the fair, the 3 main guarantee routes, namely the International Expo Line, Line 6, and Line 10, will provide an average daily transportation capacity of about 1.5 million passenger trips.
The International Expo Line, Line 10 and Line 6 will also strengthen organizational linkage and transfer connections. Based on passenger flow, measures will be taken such as arranging stand-by trains at designated stations, adding trains running on full and part routes, and increasing the stopping time at key stations to alleviate passenger pressure at stations and lines.
