CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Graduation Design Exhibition 2024 of the Art and Media College, Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology started in the Banan Campus of the university on May 21, where diversified and creative works, such as the cat picture book, little theater documentary, the photographs of Three Gorges, Sanxingdui-themed design, and the transformation of urban park landscape, were eye-catching.
The exhibition displays thousands of works created by students studying environmental design, visual communication design, network and new media, digital media art, and photography at the Art and Media College, covering a wide range of fields such as design, photography, animation, media, film, and television.
‘The Hidden Kitten’, a book design created by a visual communication design student, has captivated many audiences with its unique perspective and striking visual effect. In the cat-themed picture book, the creator based the main character on his/her cat and integrated the elements of the cat’s life into the innovative design of the work.
‘Chuxiangyu in Longmen’, a documentary produced by a network and new media major, features the runner of the Chongqing branch of Beijing Chuxiangyu Theater Company called Li Qingke. The documentary provided an insight into the ecology of small theatres, attracting many viewers. It tells the story of a group of young people who, faced with the increasingly difficult survival of the theatre company and the significant increase in the risk and uncertainty of performances, insisted on conveying their philosophy of life that they do not want to leave the world to boring men, promoting the development of the Chongqing’s culture, and giving fresh vitality into the spiritual life of the people in the city.
During the exhibition, the college will stage a series of lectures and seminars, inviting several experts and scholars to share their experiences and insights. These activities will provide students with opportunities to communicate with professionals and serve as a platform to showcase to the public the ideas and stories behind these design works. The exhibition will last until June 16. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
