Chongqing ranks among top 10 travel destinations for high school and college graduates in China

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- With the end of the college entrance examination and the arrival of graduation season in many colleges and universities, the popularity of graduation travel has increased significantly, as many graduates who are about to enter college or get a job plan to start the new stage of their lives with a trip.

On June 16, data from the Ctrip platform showed that the searches for graduation travel had increased by more than three times in June compared with the previous month, and the bookings for travel by the 20-member group from June to August grew by more than 80%. The data from Qunar revealed that high school graduates and college graduates loved to travel to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Changsha, and Wuhan.

Recently, the topic of high school and college graduates loving to travel to Chongqing has gone viral on the internet.

The most popular domestic travel destinations for graduation travel among high school and college graduates in China were traditional popular cities with a great variety of scenic spots and complete tourism resources. The top ten domestic travel destinations for post-05s high school graduates on the Qunar platform included Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha, Qingdao, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, and Hangzhou; and the top ten destinations for college graduates include Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Wuhan.

Themed parks are the preferred spots of graduates, reflected by the bookings led by Shanghai Disneyland and Universal Beijing Resort. Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum in Xi’an, Hongshan Forest Zoo in Nanjing, and Huangshan Scenic Area ranked third to fifth respectively.

Statistics also showed that more than 40% of graduation travel users chose to travel in groups, and 60% of the small-group trips were booked by female users.

In terms of outbound destinations, graduates chose Hong Kong, Macao, or Southeast Asia as their first stop for outbound travel. The top ten popular outbound destinations for graduates on the Qunar platform included Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, Osaka, Tokyo, Phuket, Seoul, Singapore, Jeju Island, and Chiang Mai.
