CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, a video of a young female bus driver in Chongqing, who looks like a fresh graduate and exudes a sense of relaxation, has gained popularity on social media platforms. After interviewing the young driver, we learned that she is called Tian Jingyi and has been officially on the job for nearly two months, driving Bus 321 in Chongqing.

The 24-year-old girl, with slightly curly long hair and a baby face, always smiles when she talks. Dressed in the driver's uniform she just received a few days ago, she sat in the driver's seat, looking energetic and spirited.

Regarding her unexpected popularity on the internet, with netizens commenting that “she seems to have just graduated from college” and “she sighed when opening the door”, Tian Jingyi responded humorously, "I didn't secretly drive my dad's car."

She recalled that in the video, she breathed a sigh when arriving at Ciqijie Station, the terminal of Bus 321. “As I didn’t control my expression well, netizens thought I was sighing.”

Some netizens teased that she was glancing at the passengers, and Tian Jingyi explained that it was an occupational habit. Since large vehicles have many blind spots, drivers have to look around frequently to ensure safety.

Although she has been officially working as a bus driver for less than two months, Tian Jingyi has already received more than one year of professional training.

Tian Jingyi told us that starting work in 2018, she worked in a photo studio and established a studio with her friends. Influenced by her family and her love for driving, she had the idea of becoming a bus driver.

"When I took the driver's license test for small cars, I passed both the second and third sections on the first try." Tian Jingyi obtained an A3 driver's license in 2022. After one year of professional training and three months of internship, she officially started working as a bus driver at the end of April this year.

Although she has been officially on the job for a short time, Tian Jingyi has her own tips for smoothly driving a bus that is more than ten meters long. During her internship, she drove Bus 385, which runs from Qunhui Road in Danzishi to Wenjiaxi. As there were many trucks along the way, and the road surface was bumpy, Tian Jingyi was nervous when driving a bus for the first time, afraid that the vehicle would bump and make passengers feel carsick, and that she would receive complaints about her driving.

For this job, Tian Jingyi admitted that it is definitely tiring and hard to sit in the driver's seat for a whole day. The first bus of Bus 321 departs at 6:00 a.m. every day. If she drives the first bus, she has to get up at 4:50 a.m. and arrive at the station half an hour earlier to check the vehicle and clean it to ensure safe and comfortable travel for passengers.

With an increasing number of followers on social media, Tian Jingyi was happy at first. However, facing various voices, she admits that there is both pressure and motivation for her. “With so many people paying attention to you, you definitely have to do a better job.”
