This Chongqing girl to lead Chinese women's volleyball team to compete in Paris Olympics!

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing girl Yuan Xinyue will lead the Chinese women's volleyball team as the captain to compete in the Paris Olympics, according to the list of athletes for the women's volleyball event at the Paris Olympics announced by the Chinese Volleyball Association.

A total of 12 athletes and one substitute athlete have been picked for the Chinese women's volleyball team, including Yuan Xinyue, Zhu Ting, Diao Linyu, Gao Yi, Gong Xiangyu, Wang Yuanyuan, Zhang Changning, Li Yingying, Zheng Yixin, Ding Xia, Wang Mengjie, Wu Mengjie, and the substitute athlete Zhuang Yushan.

Yuan Xinyue, born in Chongqing on December 21, 1996, was selected for the Bayi team and started her volleyball career in 2009 due to her height advantage and good sports foundation.

Since 2014, she has gradually grown into the backbone of the Chinese women's volleyball team and crowned champions with the team in the 2015 World Cup, the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2017 Grand Champions Cup, and the 2019 World Cup.

In 2022, Yuan Xinyue was appointed as the new captain of the Chinese women's volleyball team. She is the fourth assistant attack captain in the history of the Chinese women's volleyball team after Cao Huiying, Lai Yawen, and Wu Yongmei. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
