CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On June 30, a netizen provided a message to us that an active-duty Air Force soldier left silently after saving a man from the river on Nanbin Road, Nan’an, Chongqing.
We managed to contact the soldier, Liu Xinhao, who did the good deed without leaving his name. And he shared his story of the rescue with us.
"Someone has fallen into the water!" At around 10:30 p.m. on June 23, a man accidentally fell into the water while taking pictures of his female companion by a rock across from Zhonglou Square on Nanbin Road, and his female companion then began to cry out for help.
It was dark by the river, and the calls for help were drowned out by the sounds of strong winds and large waves.
Luckily, Liu Xinhao happened to have fun by the rock, and he hurriedly rushed over after hearing the woman's calls for help. Liu and the woman pulled the man struggling in the water together while shouting for the man’s companions who were having fun on other rocks.
Eventually, Liu Xinhao and the companions of the man successfully pull the man ashore. After seeing that the rescued man was physically unhurt, Liu Xinhao left quietly.
It is learned that Liu Xinhao is a 24-year-old active-duty Air Force soldier in China. He is born in Bishan, Chongqing. On the day of the incident, he happened to go back to Chongqing on family visit leave.
Offering a helping hand to someone in trouble is not worth mentioning, said Liu Xinhao. He kindly reminds everyone to be careful when playing by the river. Particularly, when the river recedes at night, the rocks are extremely slick, so extra caution is required. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
