We have other tasks to complete.” A family in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, excitedly invited members of the Chongqing Professional Emergency Rescue Corps, who had just successfully rescued two elderly people trapped in their home, to have a meal together.
"We appreciate your kind invitation, but we have other urgent tasks to complete." The rescue team members politely declined their invitation and prepared to head to the next rescue site.
Since the Chongqing Professional Emergency Rescue Corps set out for Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province on July 2, the team has been working continuously for 31 hours to carry out post-disaster cleanup and drainage work, said Chongqing Emergency Management Bureau.
To ensure the basic living needs of residents, the directly affiliated detachment organized personnel to deliver daily necessities to the elderly and residents with limited mobility on July 4, including bottled water, instant noodles, and milk. The communication detachment leveraged its professional knowledge to repair the communication networks for the affected people, inspect the equipment, and resolve electrical faults, to solve the problems for the residents promptly.
