CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As summer vacation approaches, more and more young consumers are discovering new trendsetting places and niche play modes around them. A few days ago, M Cháo, an IP aggregator of trendsetting stores, released its Trendsetting Shops in Spring/Summer 2024, covering a wide range of industries such as leisure and fun, catering and performances, with a total of 1,721 places to eat, drink, play and enjoy in 16 cities.

Among them, there are 21 new trendsetting places to eat, drink and play in Chongqing; and a total of 77 new trendsetting places to eat, drink and play have been selected into M Cháo so far, with the largest number of trendsetting specialty food and beverage stores, and trendsetting leisure and fun stores selected.

Behind the various trendsetting play modes, more and more young people are willing to pay for “new Chinese style”, “micro-vacation”, “dopamine” and other experiences. Meituan and Dianping statistics showed that in the past month, the number of comments related to “new Chinese style” has increased by more than two times on a year-on-year basis, and the number of comments on “micro-vacation” has increased by more than 70%. The “dopamine” lifestyle in which consumers pay for pleasure, consume for emotions, and please themselves is also quietly emerging. On M Cháo, 125 sports-themed stores have become good places to combine with “dopamine” lifestyle. There are one-stop trendsetting sports centers integrating go-karting and rock climbing, as well as niche experience places such as archery and curling, and even the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of paddleboard surfing, forest streaming and so on.

“I love to visit all kinds of trendsetting stores. After experiencing go-karting through M Cháo some time ago, I fell in love with the joy brought by speed and passion,” said Tang Lu, a young girl who went to school in Chongqing, and she recently purchased a full-day ticket to a sports store through Meituan, and went to “run” as soon as she had time.

Store managers are also constantly reconstructing their stores to create a fresher and more fun offline experience for young people who pursue unique experiences and favor freshness. “Karting League Club” (Chongqing Longfor Times Paradise Store) attracted many young people to come to take pictures and play due to its strong “cyberpunk” style. “I used to be engaged in the racing industry for five or six years.” The store manager said that racing culture used to be a bit out of reach for the general public, but the Club provided a venue where the general public can easily experience karting, making racing culture more accessible to a wider range of consumers.
