CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, according to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Chongqing round-trip direct passenger flights to and from Moscow will officially resume from July 30. After the resumption, it will take about 9 hours from Chongqing to Moscow, which is shortened by more than 4 hours compared with the previous transit routes.

Chongqing ⇌ Moscow route is operated by Tianjin Airlines with aircraft A330, with two flights per week respectively on every Tuesday and Friday, with the outbound flight taking off from Chongqing at 05:55 and arriving in Moscow at 10:20 local time, and the return flight taking off from Moscow at 12:20 local time, and arriving in Chongqing at 01:20 the next day.

As the capital of the Russian Federation and the capital of the Moskovskaya Oblast, the political, economic, cultural, financial and transportation center as well as the largest comprehensive city of Russia, Moscow has the Kremlin, Red Square, Saint Basil’s Cathedral and other famous tourist resources, and it is called as “the City of Domes” because of a number of very artistic church buildings located in its downtown area. Located at latitude 55°-56°N, Moscow boasts with a cool climate and pleasant scenery in summer. The resumption of Chongqing ⇌ Moscow route will play a positive role in promoting economic and trade exchanges and cultural tourism and further boosting exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia.

It is reported that since this year, the international (regional) passenger flights of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport increased significantly; and so far, it provided services for more than 800,000 international (regional) passenger, with a year-on-year grow of nearly two times, exceeding the total number of 2023. At present, there are 25 international (regional) passenger routes, and 150 flights per week from the Airport to London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Budapest, Sydney, Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, Osaka and other cities, basically building an international route network covering Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other regions.

In the near future, it will also open a new route to Penang, Malaysia, provide more flights to the Kuala Lumpur and open a direct charter flight from Chongqing to Koh Samui, which will boost the construction of Chongqing as a comprehensive inland opening hub.
