CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A few days ago, cars were running on a road by the Wayaobu Reservoir, a river system connectivity project in Qianjiang District. In recent years, Qianjiang District has implemented water system connectivity projects and water beauty rural construction, to connect the river systems between Pingxigou and Dongtang River, with river channels of 12.9 kilometers regulated. Through construction of diversion tunnels, rivers dredging, improvement of bank slopes of rivers, regulation of river channels, and soil and water conservation projects, problems such as water replenishment for backbone water source projects have been solved, flood control and security have been achieved, and the ecological environment of rivers have been improved. In addition, facilities for pollution prevention and control, riverbank greening and ecological restoration, water culture and its supporting facilities along the rivers have been built, so as to improve the living environment of villagers, create a beautiful water system and happy countryside with smooth rivers, clear water, green banks, beautiful scenery, and harmonious people, and promote rural revitalization.
