CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On July 13, a good news came from Auckland, the "Sailing Capital" of New Zealand, that Bashu Secondary School choir stood out from more than 300 choirs from more than 50 countries and won the gold medal at the 13th World Choir Games in 2024. It is reported that this is the first time for Bashu students to win the gold medal after winning the gold medal at the 2016 World Choir Games in Sochi, Moscow.

On the afternoon of July 12, this group of Chongqing youth with an average age of 13 years old went into the backstage of Auckland City Hall to change, make up, walk and adjust their state. “Relax, close your eyes and prepare your mood, and play back the picture sense of the song.” “Restore the tension that the song deserves, learn to enjoy the performance, enjoy the competition, play normally with a usual mind, and express the style and emotion that the song has.” Deputy Secretary Wang Hongxia, who accompanied the team, gave encouragement to the students before they went to stage.

On the stage, the choir of 48 girls sang four pieces including Dandelion, EGYETEM BEGYETEM, Pizzicato Polka, and a Yunnan Hani folk song under the precise and skillful guidance of the conductor, Gao Qian, and the accompaniment of Chinese tambourines.

Chen Yueming, a student of junior high school, was one of the choir members who participated in the competition. After the competition, she said that “Chinese culture is truly recognized in the world, and I am truly pride of being a Chinese. When the name of our choir resounds on the world stage, our efforts are more meaningful.” (Translated by Vichy, Fathom Language Limited)
