CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On July 23, with the completion of the last concrete pouring, the continuous beam of Longtan River Super-large Bridge of Ankang-Chongqing Section of Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as “Ankang-Chongqing Section”) was successfully joined, which is the continuous beam of the first bridge along Ankang-Chongqing Section.

Located at Guangxing Town, Guang’an City, Sichuan Province, with a total length of 1,253.35m, designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREEC) and constructed by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group, Longtan River Super-large Bridge consists of 35 simple strut beams and one continuous beam with the maximum pier height of 44.5 meters.

In order to ensure the smooth joining of the continuous beam, the builders chose to pour concrete in the early hours of the morning when the temperature is low and the temperature difference is small so as to ensure that all the control indexes meet the specification requirements and ensure the joining quality.

Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway is an important part of Beijing-Kunming Corridor and Baotou-(Yinchuan)-Haikou Corridor of “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal Railways” Network of China, and it plays an important role in road network.

After the completion and commissioning of Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway, the travel time between Chongqing and Xi’an is expected to be shortened from about 6 hours to about 2.5 hours, which will greatly facilitate the travel of people along the railway.
