CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, iQiyi officially announced that a comedy film named Clash will appear in cinemas on August 23.
The film is produced by Guan Hu, directed by Jiang Jiachen, written by Wu Tao, and starred by Li Jiuxiao and Wang Qianyuan. It tells the story of Liu Yonggan (played by Li Jiuxiao), a take-away deliveryman nicknamed “Bolt in Shapingba”, who called 30 people from all walks of life, including a truck driver (played by Wang Qianyuan), to form a rugby team called “Dock Workers”. Together, they strove to compete for a million-dollar prize.
It is reported that Clash is adapted from a real event of a rugby team consisting of dock workers in Chongqing, telling a story of Chongqing people. Though the characters in the film varied in age and occupation, they were called to form a rugby team by a “call for heroes” and participated in various competitions along the way, ultimately making a counterattack. Previously, the media praised by saying “They are not a professional team, but they approach everything with a professional attitude.”
In order to authentically restore the story, this film was shot in Chongqing and characters mainly spoke Chongqing dialect. In the newly released preview, many comedy celebrities such as Pan Binlong, Yang Haoyu, Liang Chao, and Liang Long can be seen in the film, who brought many punchlines in Chongqing dialect. At the same time, these dock workers also show their fighting and pioneering spirits “never giving up”, reflecting their Chongqing spirit of knowing how to live and being willing to endure hardships. All of these make the film full of Chongqing flavor. (Translated by Jane, Fathom Language Limited)
