CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Chinese Football Association recently unveiled the new roster for the U15 National Women's Football Training Team in preparation for the East Asian Football Federation U-15 Women's Championship, scheduled to begin on August 15.

Chongqing native Ju Zhitong has made the list, according to the Chongqing Football Management Center. This marks the 15-year-old girl's second selection to the national team this year, following her initial call-up in April.

Born in Xiushan County, Chongqing, Ju developed a passion for football at 7. For her, football is more than just a game; it’s as

cherished as a favorite doll, and her cleats are like magical crystal shoes, kicking away troubles and bringing endless joy.

In 2023, Ju became an official member of the Chongqing Women's Youth Football Team for the 15th National Games after successfully passing the selection process, and attended the High School Affiliated with Southwest University.

On July 31, the Chinese Football Association launched the 2024 National U15 Women's Elite Player Training Camp at the Dalian Youth Football Training Base, enrolling 65 talented athletes from all over the country.

After four days of rigorous training, learning, and competition, Ju's exceptional performance earned her a spot on the U15 National Women's Football Training Team. From August 4 to 14, the national youth team will continue training at the Dalian Youth Football Training Base before competing in the East Asian Football Federation U-15 Women's Championship, which runs from August 15 to 26.

This is Ju's second national team appearance this year. In April, she donned the No. 9 jersey symbolizing the main center-forward position and represented China in the UEFA U-16 Women's International Invitational Tournament in Europe. The team secured third place with three wins and one loss.

Ju started one match and came off the bench in two others in the UEFA U-16 Women's International Invitational Tournament, making the most of her limited playing time. She scored one goal, provided an impressive assist, and earned a penalty for her team.

Her European tour solidified her ambitions: to establish herself in the national youth team, perform well in the National Games, and ultimately pursue a professional football career representing Chongqing and China. Now, Ju Zhitong is steadily advancing toward her dreams. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
