CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On August 8, Chongqing Convenient Supercharging City Construction Summit was held in Chongqing. According to information from the summit, by the end of July this year, Chongqing had built over 320,000 charging piles, including 36,000 public charging piles and 286,000 private charging piles, with an average car-to-pile ratio of about 2:1, better than the national average. Additionally, Chongqing has approximately 500 supercharging stations either under construction or completed, ranking among the top in the country.

“To develop intelligent connected new energy vehicles, Chongqing will enhance facilities such as charging stations and piles, optimize services such as technology and network support, and build a nationally leading convenient supercharging city,” said a responsible person of the Municipal Economic and Information Commission. According to Chongqing New Energy Vehicle Convenient Supercharging Action Plan (2024–2025), it is expected that more than 2,000 supercharging stations and over 4,000 supercharging piles will be established in Chongqing next year.

It is reported that in last September, Chongqing launched the initiative titled “Chongqing Supercharging Network”, which, through the latest charging technology, allows a new energy vehicle to be fully charged in 10 to 15 minutes. As of now, the initiative titled “Chongqing Supercharging Network” has covered 11 districts and counties in Chongqing and has expanded to 8 cities outside Chongqing, totaling 80 supercharging stations built and nearly 1,000 reserved site resources.

At the summit, the People’s Government of Chongqing, Jiulongpo District signed a joint innovation center construction agreement with Huawei Digital Power Technologies Co., Ltd. Both parties will work together to fill gaps in the industry chain, enhance frontend R&D and manufacturing, and build a supercharging all-encompassing industry model characterized by “standardized design, digitalized operations, value-added services, integrated products, and scaled networks”.

Industry experts and company representatives at the summit also discussed the path to urban supercharging construction, explored commercial practices and ecological progress in supercharging, and showcased integrated solutions for solar storage and charging, full-liquid cooling supercharging technology, and operational results.
