At 09:00, with the sound of the starting gun, eager swimming enthusiasts dove into the water one after another, instantly turning the once-calm Taiyang Lake into a scene of splashing waves. Their strong arms sliced through the layers of water as their agile bodies glided, marking the start of 2024 “National Fitness Day” Chongqing Open Water Swimming Competition.

“This is my first time competing here. I feel the water quality is excellent, and the scenery is beautiful. I felt very relaxed as soon as I entered the water,” said Chai Jun, who had just completed the 1,000m swimming. “I usually swim in indoor pools. This time I realized how wonderful it is to be in touch with nature. Swimming 2,000 meters, I felt really refreshing!” (Translated by Vichy, Fathom Language Limited)
