CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the reporter learned from Chongqing Branch of the People’s Bank of China that the elderly and foreigners coming to Chongqing and others using bank cards can buy tickets at railway station ticket windows in any station with the domestic and foreign bank cards.

It is understood that for meeting the actual demands of the elderly and foreigners coming to Chongqing and others using bank cards, Chongqing Branch of the People’s Bank of China and Chongqing Municipal Transportation Commission promoted Chongqing Branch of China UnionPay Merchant Services Payment Inc. (hereinafter referred to as China UMS) to provide bank card POS machines at ticket windows in any railway stations to further enhance the payment convenience in public transportation. As of July 31, all 12 rail transit lines, covering a total of 212 stations and 282 ticket windows had been installed with POS machines so that passengers could buy tickets with bank cards such as UnionPay Card, VISA Card, MasterCard, JCB and American Express Card. Passengers who have the need to purchase tickets via bank cards, such as the elderly and foreigners coming to Chongqing who have difficulty in using mobile payment or do not have RMB cash, can purchase one-way, one-day or three-day tickets via their bank cards at ticket windows in operation in any station, realizing convenient and efficient travel.

According to a person in charge of Chongqing Branch of the People’s Bank of China, next, it will continue promoting the construction of a diversified payment service system to continuously improve the sense of gain and satisfaction of payment services for groups such as the elderly and foreigners coming to Chongqing.
