CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "At the end of June this year, SERES Group held the delivery ceremony for the first users of SERES 5 in Norway, marking the official entry of SERES Auto into the Norwegian market.

Over the past year, SERES has been accelerating its expansion in Europe, with models like the SERES 5 having successfully entered the automobile markets in Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

As early as June 2023, SERES Group launched a train for transporting new energy vehicles through the new land-sea corridor, initiating the export of new energy vehicles to Europe through this corridor.

Meanwhile, Changan Auto, another leading automotive company from Chongqing, is also speeding up its expansion in European strategy.

According to data from Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., over 10,000 finished automobiles made by Changan have been exported to Europe via the CHINA RAILWAY Express (Yuxinou) since the beginning of this year. Changan Auto plans to complete its layout in major European markets within three years, aiming to sell 300,000 vehicles in Europe by 2030.

“In addition to automobiles, laptop products are also one of the major goods from Chongqing exported to Europe,” said a relevant official from Chongqing Customs, adding that about 30% of the laptop products sold in Europe are either made in Chongqing or use components made in Chongqing.

Driven by the automobiles and laptop products, Chongqing has made more trade with Europe, and the EU has become one of Chongqing's most important trading partners.

Data showed that in the first half of this year, Chongqing's foreign trade with the EU totaled 49 billion yuan, second only to ASEAN, making the EU Chongqing's second-largest trading partner.

There have been frequent exchanges between many countries from Europe with Chongqing. Take France as an example, its transnational corporation such as SUEZ Group, Schneider Electric and Sodefinance & Partners SA have all been deeply rooted in Chongqing for many years. In 2023, Chongqing's exports to France climbed 24.8 percent year-on-year to 9.38 billion yuan, with the main exports including laptops, textiles & clothing, automobile spare parts, etc.

Europe is not only an important trade partner for Chongqing but also provides significant support for Chongqing's construction of a four-directional logistics channel system.
