Since June, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has been on a mission to revolutionize EV charging in expressway service areas, launching seven new ultra-fast charging stations along highways like Wansheng and Mawu Service Centers, three urban charging stations in strategic locations such as Beibei Railway Station. On top of that, 12 existing stations have been upgraded in locations like Weilong and Daguan Service Centers, bringing the total to an impressive 22 ultra-fast charging stations now in operation.

In Shizhu County, a popular destination for summer vacation in Chongqing, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has completed the construction of a state-of-the-art supercharging station at the Mawu Service Center (along the Zhangjiajie–Nanchong Expressway) just ahead of the summer vacation peak. This station features three 180kW integrated DC dual-gun charging piles and a 480kW supercharging stack, which includes a liquid-cooled DC charging terminal and a single-gun DC charging pile. This setup allows new energy vehicle owners to travel up to 400 kilometers after just a 10-minute charge, significantly cutting down charging time and ensuring a safe and eco-friendly journey for summer travelers.

State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company is also rolling out the construction of more ultra-fast charging stations, aiming to complete the upgrade of 76 existing stations in expressway service centers by the end of the year. After the upgrade, each service center will be equipped with at least two cutting-edge liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging terminals, boosting the output power of a single gun to 480 kilowatts. This upgrade will dramatically reduce charging times, making it possible for travelers to fully charge their vehicles in just “the time of a cup of coffee" before hitting the road again.
