CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On August 27, as the last pouring of concrete was completed, the main tower at the south bank of Huangjuetuo Yangtze River Bridge, the largest dual-use suspension bridge for both road and rail, was successfully topped out, marking a breakthrough made in the bridge's construction, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the superstructure.
The Huangjuetuo Yangtze River Bridge is a key component of the Yuchang Expressway Bypass Connection Project (Haiteng Interchange to Nanqiaotou Interchange). The bridge is 1,260 meters long, with a main span of 765 meters, featuring a single-span, double-tower, three-span continuous steel truss suspension design. The bridge has a dual-level deck layout, with the upper level accommodating a six-lane urban expressway and the lower level accommodating a dual-track railway reserved in the middle, flanked by four-lane urban arterial roads on either side.
Once completed, the Huangjuetuo Yangtze River Bridge will become a critical traffic artery connecting the Danzishi area in Nan'an District with the Tangjiatuo area in Jiangbei District, helping alleviate traffic pressure on the Inner Ring Expressway and Yuhang Avenue, accelerating the development of the Danzishi, Jiguanshi, Tangjiatuo and other areas.
