CHONGQING (CQNEWS) – On August 27, the 2024 "Belt and Road" Journalists Organization Forum Theme Exploration Event officially commenced. Heads of journalist organizations and media representatives from 50 countries and regions embarked on four separate routes to conduct on-site interviews, focusing on the stories of New Chongqing within the context of Chinese-style modernization.
The group of journalists visited the Chongqing Inland International Logistics Hub Exhibition Center, the Chongqing Rail Container Center Station, and the Chongqing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, conducting exploration activities focused on the pioneer of opening-up in inland China and urban construction.
At the Chongqing Inland International Logistics Hub Exhibition Center, a logistics map showing Chongqing's connections to various parts of the world was displayed on a large screen. During the visit, foreign journalists raised a series of questions: "How many countries and cities does this hub connect?" "What types of goods can be transported from here?"
"Are the Lifan automobiles from our country, Egypt, shipped from here? Is there a prospect for increasing export volumes in the future?" asked Ayman Kadi, Executive Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Member, and Director of the Cabinet News Department at Middle East News Agency. After receiving a positive response, Kadi expressed that this event would offered a valuable opportunity to explore Sino-African cooperation, particularly between China and Egypt. He noted that nowadays, not only cars but many Egyptian products are "Made in China", and he hoped that Belt and Road cooperation would further promote Sino-Egyptian cooperation, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries.
Teuku Santosa, Chairman of the Indonesian Online Media Association, was deeply impressed by the rapid development of China's transportation and logistics after his visit. He said that China's swift progress is like a miracle, and the country's reform and opening-up have had a profound impact over the past few decades. Chongqing, as an important node for Belt and Road cooperation, is gradually becoming a crucial window for the Indonesian people to know and learn about China.
At the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, facing Chaotianmen Square, gazing up at Chongqing Raffles City, and overlooking the confluence of the two rivers, the breathtaking scenery prompted the guests to take out their mobile phones and take pictures.
"I love Chongqing!" With the sound of the camera's shutter, Mohammad Zahir Alam, Chairman of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, and Mohammad Adel Shahid, freelance writer of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, lifted up a green decorative photo frame together, capturing this beautiful moment.
"Chongqing is so beautiful, and it exceeded my expectations!" Mohammad Zahir Alam said happily, "Chongqing is an amazing city, surrounded by mountains, and there are so many places worth visiting and learning about." The beauty of Chongqing and the hospitality of its people inspired him, and he planned to introduce this city, where beauty and technology coexist, to the people of Pakistan.
With inspiration fresh in mind, they wasted no time. On the high-speed train to Yunyang, Mohammad Zahir Alam raised his pocket camera while Mohammad Adel Shahid held a microphone, recording a promotional video on the spot.
"In China, especially in Chongqing, I highly recommend everyone to take a high-speed train ride whenever possible, and it will give you an extraordinary experience." In the video, Mohammad Adel Shahid turned his gaze towards the window, looking at the rapidly receding scenery outside. "It brings economic vitality to the city, making Chongqing, a mountain city, even more prosperous. I believe this is what the future of urban development should look like!"
