CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- If you want to sneak through security check and board the plane with a ticket bought with fake identity information and a paper temporary boarding pass, it doesn’t work anymore! Recently, the reporter learned from the Airport Branch of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau that they have developed independently a "Human-Code Connection" verification technology with Chongqing Airport Group to that can accurately detect identity fraud within one second. This technology fills the gap in intelligent verification of paper temporary identification and automated alerts in civil aviation and other passenger transport sectors, making it the first of its kind in China.
The "Human-Code Connection" technology is a new means of security check through system-based intelligent verification instead of verification with eyes and automated system alarm instead of traditional phone alarm. Specially, the police have embedded the "Human-Code Connection" data module into the existing temporary boarding pass issuance system. When passengers apply for a paper temporary boarding pass at the airport, the system prints the passenger's photo, name, ID number, and validity period as a QR code on the temporary boarding pass, e.g. giving it an "electronic ID."
When passengers pass through the security check, as soon as the security staff scan a passenger’s QR code with a scanner, the system will automatically perform a "triple" intelligent verification of the passenger's name, document information, and live portrait, ensuring that the "person" is consistent with the "identity", achieving "information integration with one code, scan to display, full comparison, and automatic alarm", with the entire process taking less than a second (previously, it took at least two to three minutes) and an accuracy rate exceeding 99%.
According to the person in charge from the Airport Branch of Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, to ease the pressure on security checks during the summer travel rush, the "Human-Code Connection" verification technology has been used at the T2 and T3 terminals of Jiangbei International Airport. So far, over 35,000 temporary boarding passes have been verified with this system. Since its operation, security staff have discovered one passenger with the same name but different ID.
The person in charge also introduced that the technology is cost-effective, replicable, easy to promote, and delivers quick results, and can also be widely applied in other locations such as bus stations and passenger terminals where paper-based identity verification is required for identity verification.
