The 18th China (Chongqing) Mid-autumn Food and Mooncakes Cultural Festival kicks off

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As the Mid-autumn Festival approaches, many residents in Chongqing have begun preparing for the holiday by purchasing mooncakes.
On September 3, the 18th China (Chongqing) Mid-autumn Food and Mooncakes Cultural Festival (referred to as the “Festival”) took place at Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This year’s event, themed on “Mid-autumn Celebration in Chongqing· Joyful Consumption”, covers an area of 10,000 square meters- and features over 200 brand enterprises and high-quality exhibitors.
At the scene, the reporter observed a variety of mooncakes including flaky, sugar, and snow skin types, with fillings such as mixed nuts, fresh meat, salted egg yolk, and red bean paste. Not only were there numerous participating brands, but the wide range of traditional and new-flavor mooncakes also dazzled the attending citizens.
The mooncake industry has been evolving with the times, blending tradition with innovation and constantly updating flavors and varieties. Nutritional quality and health considerations are increasingly highlighted, while diverse and personalized options continue to shine.
In addition to mooncakes, the Festival also showcased renowned products from across the country, including confectionery and liquor, teas, coffees, snacks, meat products, and specialty agricultural products.
From September 3 to 17, the Festival would feature activities such as tasting new mooncake varieties, promoting regional mooncake varieties, tasting premium teas and wines, ordering seasonal green agricultural products, bulk purchasing of brand mooncakes, calligraphy exhibitions, and community dance performances. These activities aim to create a joyful shopping platform for citizens and consumers to choose mooncakes, purchase specialties, and celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival.
